Antique Black Opal Diamond Earrings

Antique black opal and diamond earrings;  this is a rare opportunity to purchase these magnificent opal earrings which have come from the collection of a prominent English family.  Black opals are rare and these have a particularly strong play of colour.  The earrings are formed of a pear shaped black opal, bezel set, and surrounded by single cut diamonds with millegrain edging.  They are suspended from a diamond set bow motif which is attached to a hook.  Total diamond weight: 0.40ct.  Weight: 3.60gm; measurements;  23mm x 9mm.  Tested as platinum with 9ct gold hooks.   They are in very good condition and date from around 1920.  Ref: MH25
