Antique French Gold Negligée Wedding Necklace


Antique French 18ct gold negligée wedding necklace;  this beautiful necklace dates from the Napoléon III era of the late nineteenth century and is in a style very popular at the time.  It is formed of lozenge shaped links separated by pearls and gold chain links.  Weight; 12.55gm.  At the end there is a pearl set bar from which two pearl and black enamel motifs are suspended, one slightly longer than the other as is traditional.  Length down to the bar: 44cm (17 1/2″); length of the drop: 7cm (2 3/4″).  Width of the drop motifs: 1cm (1/2″).  Stamped with the French state control mark for 18ct gold (Eagle’s head).   The necklace is in very good condition and perfect for today’s modern bride who is looking for something unique and with history.  C. 1860 -1870  Ref: V1364
