Art Deco Diamond Fan Brooch


Art Deco diamond fan brooch; this is from the private collection of a prominent Worcestershire family.  It is in the form of a hand made, diamond set, stylised fan brooch with rows of diamonds radiating out from a central 0.60ct Old European cut diamond.  The outer edge diamonds are all set with millegrain edging.  The lower part of the brooch is set with further rows of Old European cut diamonds and is suspended from the top section allowing for fluidity and movement.  There are 59 diamonds in total, assessed as 3.82ct, H – M colour, S1 – I1 clarity.  Weight: 11.18gm.   To the reverse the brooch is fitted with a pin and swivel lock for closure.   Measurements: 4cm x 2.5cm (1 1/2″ x 1″). Tested as 18ct gold back and platinum front.   It is is very good condition and is of very fine manufacture, dating from around 1920.  Ref: MH21
