Art Deco Sapphire Diamond Pendant This spectacular pendant is a superb example of the artistry and design of the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s.
It is formed as a coiled ribbon with a central pear shaped, Certified Natural Sri Lankan sapphire of a moderate blue shade and weighing 1.61ct set below a Transitional cut diamond assessed as 0.80ct, Colour G/H, SI2.
On either side there are a further 24 Transitional and Old European cut diamonds totalling 2.38ct (Assessed) and fanning out below the sapphire there are 10 Marquise diamonds totalling 1.36ct, interspersed by 18 8-Cut diamonds weighing 0.36ct. Total diamond weight assessed as 4.89ct.
To the reverse there is a concealed bale to attach a chain.
Measurements: Length: 40.00mm x 33.00mm. Stamped with the French state platinum mark (Dog’s Head) and tested as platinum. Maker’s mark: CD. The pendant is supplied with a contemporary platinum chain, weight: 3.60gm. Overall length including chain: 46cm (18″). Weight: 17.40gm.
This beautiful pendant is in very good condition and dates from the 1920s – 1930s. It is accompanied by a Gem Lab Report stating the sapphire to be natural and of Sri Lankan origin.
