French Belle Epoque Gold Pearl Necklace

French Belle Epoque 18ct gold and seed pearl “draperie” necklace.  This exquisitely intricate necklace is formed of seven graduated oval sections, each containing a row of tiny seed pearls nestled in a gold design.  Under each section there is a fine chain looped with a tiny pearl in the centre and this part of the necklace is attached to a gold filigree chain which fastens with a bolt ring.  Weight 6.20gm.  The necklace is of fine workmanship and would most likely have been worn for a wedding.  It is stamped with the French state control mark for 18ct gold (Eagle’s head) and is in excellent condition with all its pearls and absolutely no damage.  This is a rare piece to have survived completely intact and in such good condition.  Length 41.5cm (16 3/8″).   C.1890-1900.
