We have researched Edith Beaufort, whose husband’s great grandfather invented the Beaufort Scale for measuring wind speed. Edith was born in 1856 and later became a member of The Order of the Golden Dawn that studied the occult. The Cann Lippincotts were the Lippincott Baronetcy of Stoke Bishop in Gloucestershire created in 1778 for Henry Lippincott, later member of Parliament for Bristol. The title became extinct in 1829. We are so far unable to establish the link between Cann Lippincott and Edith but have a folder of information regarding her and her family. Ref: K038
