Victorian Garnet 15ct Gold Heart Padlock

Victorian garnet padlock/pendant in 15ct gold; from The Alice Collection, this is a lovely romantic heart which is in the form of a padlock set with a cabochon garnet in a highly decorated gold design.  The reverse has a compartment for a love token of one’s beloved.  The padlock opens on a side hinge and the mechanism is in good working order.  Weight: 4.80gm.  Measurements: 2.60cm x 1.50cm x 1.20cm ( 1″ x 5/8″ x 1/2″).   Tested as 15ct gold.  The padlock dates from the mid Victorian era, 1850 – 1870 and is in very good condition.  Ref: H066-71
