Victorian Garnet Pearl Gold Brooch

The Alice Collection  –  antique 9ct rose gold, garnet and pearl brooch;  this is a very pretty brooch with lots of detailing on it;  the central, raised, motif is formed of seed pearls clustered around a garnet in a star shape with a floral design on either side.  The leaves are in a contrasting yellow gold which adds interest and variety to the brooch.  To the reverse it is fitted with a pin and hook closure.  This would have been worn by a Victorian lady to pin her blouse or dress at the collar which was the height of sophistication at the time.  Weight: 2.90gms.  Measurements: 4cm x 1.5cm (1 3/4″ x 1/2″).  Fully UK hallmarked 9ct gold Chester 1901.  The brooch is in very good condition.  Ref: H066-77
