Victorian Mourning Brooch Gold Plated

The Alice Collection – the only brooch in the whole collection not in gold, but instead, beautifully gold plated.  This is a great example of Victorian craftsmanship, heavily decorated in the fine tradition of the era.  To the reverse there is a glass lidded compartment containing finely woven dark hair.  It is fitted with a pin and hook closure.  Measurements: 4cm x 3cm (1 1/2″ x 1 1/4″).  The brooch is in very good condition and is stamped with a Registration number.  C.1860 – 1880.  Ref: H066-92
