Vintage sapphire and diamond brooch set in 18ct gold (tested); this is a fine example of mid century craftsmanship and typifies the elegance of jewellery from that era. This beautiful brooch would have been worn by an elegant lady for a lunch date or cocktail party. It is formed of a floral garland of Brilliant cut diamonds linked by a pavé of diamonds and a ribbon motif set with sapphires of an intense blue shade. Total diamond weight: 1.20ct; sapphire weight: 2.24ct. Tested as 18ct gold. Weight: 23.5gm. To the reverse the brooch is fitted with a pin and swivel lock closure. Measurements: 6cm x 4.5cm (2 1/2″ x 2″). The brooch is in excellent condition and dates from the 1950s. Ref: L067
