Antique Edwardian Opal Crescent Brooch

Antique Edwardian Opal Crescent Brooch;  dating from the turn of the last century, this crescent brooch is set with a dazzling display of graduated opals mounted over a gallery; they have a strong play of colour and positively glow with radiance.  To the reverse, the brooch is fitted with a pin and swivel lock for security.  Weight: 5.2gms.  Hallmarked London 9ct gold. Measurements: 3.7cm x 2.7cm x 6mm depth (1 1/2″ x 1″) It is in very good condition.  Crescent brooches were the height of fashion around this time and this one is a beautiful example.  C.1901 – 1910.  Ref: L112
