Antique Rococo Revival Amethyst Brooch This brooch, dating from around 1920 has been handcrafted in the style of the earlier rococo period of the 18th century which was characterised by flowing lines, seemingly endless movement and pastel colours.
It features a step cut light purple amethyst weighing 4.5ct framed by an elegant and dramatic carved and scrolled gold border. To the reverse it is fitted with a pin and roll lock clasp for added security.
Tested as 15ct gold. It weighs a significant 12.4gm and measures 25mm x 20mm (1″ x 3/4″). The brooch is in very good condition and would make a valued addition to an antique jewellery collection.
